Preach The Word

“Preach the word, be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.” 2 Tim. 4:2

Pastor Davy Sim of SBBC

The Word of God. It shall not return to God void but it shall perform the thing for which it was sent to. The Word of God can be eaten and it will be unto us the joy and rejoicing of our heart. By it, can man live, and not by bread alone. The Word of God is a sword, sharper than any two-edged sword. It pierces to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, where no physical sword can penetrate into, to the joints and marrow and is a discerner, a judge, of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

The Word of God, which is the beginning, and was with God and was God. But that Word came to his own, in order to save his own. But his own rejected him.

We are to preach the Word. In any season, or out of season. When it is the season for preaching or not. We are to reprove and rebuke, two difficult things to do, because we can always be misunderstood as legalists and holy rollers. We are to reprove, rebuke and exhort with all longsuffering. Even when it hurts to the bone, even when friends, relatives and even those who are deemed brethren in the faith taunt, oppose or forsake you.

Preach it. Preach it with the right doctrine. That is the gist of it all. 2 Tim. 2:15. All scripture is profitable for doctrine. For reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. Doctrine. The teaching of doctrine. The preaching of doctrine is so important.
