This is an addition to the Joshua 18- Monico and the Valley of the Giants post.
I hope you all got what Monico did with the rest of the tools he had to defeat the giant who plundered their town and ate their children.
Well, here it is – with the rope he showed the dim eyed giant his “hair” which was obviously much bigger than the giant’s. With the axehead, he showed his “tooth”, a huge one. And finally, his “voice” can cause shrills in the spines of anyone with the trumpet.
So the giant ran away from Monico, in fear, and fell into a deep ravine – to his end.
The same can be said of our arch-enemy. Although our weapons seem small – a “book” with battered pages, a life that is torn with so many trials and afflictions, caused by this “big enemy” who is bent to bring havoc to a Christian life. We have our tools, for our weapons are not carnal, but spiritual and we wage a war in the spiritual realm, against principalities and powers.
So we must be wise as serpents but harmless as doves.
Resist the devil and he will flee from you (James 4:7).
